This article attempts to reinvigorate dialogue across the home–homelessness relationship by problematizing the binaries in present understandings and poses a special way of theorizing the interaction between the two concepts. Drawing on interviews with girls accessing homelessness companies within the North of England, discussion interweaves women’s meanings of home and homelessness with the Freudian notion of the ‘unheimlich’. The article seeks to contribute more enough theoretical tools for future analysis to higher perceive and articulate the complexities of house and homelessness.
